market value of the pasture board probably would have stopped it from even occurring.First and last and if necessary deposit to cover repairs. What we have done here, is make them get an account at the local feed store, so that when and if they run out of what they need, we go get it and it is charged to them(per agreement with the feed store dealer and the horse owner-you have permission to do this). They buy a month of feed at a time, or more. Make sure the board is enough to cover full care(trust me it will become full care). If and when the situation becomes more of a neglectful owner, you send a certified eviction notice.
ALSO- Horse must have a vet, have been vetted, and you have permission to call the vet in the event of an emergency. I know you are in the midst of this now, so it seems it is time to send a certified letter.
