Gasoline contains sediments and particles that over time will diminish the purity of the fuel, however, if it's only been stored over the winter, your gas is probably fine but your spark plug(s) is probably no good, or your filter may be clogged up. Our lawn mower's filter was actually clogged with dead spiders and spider webs after being stored for a few years. Ick. Ew.
You probably just need a service on your lawn mower.
