The last bike I bought on Ebay was back in May, and although the seller specified this very thing, it couldn't be done. Ebay automatically generated an invoice for the finishing price for the full amount, and wouldn't allow the seller to alter or amend it in any way. Clearly Ebay/Paypal wish the entire purchase price to go through their process to maximise their profits, and a good thing too, really. How could I expect any buyer protections if I don't follow their procedures? Some years back it was common for sellers to request payment by bank transfer or even split the fees, which is a bloody cheek. Either sell it on Ebay or via some other means, but don't expect the buyer to subsidise your final price in this way.
