Well as I 'dipped out' of motorcycling in approx 1979 when with a young family and being broke my Velo Venom had to go I never tasted the delights of 'modern' bikes like the Z900 and when you guys mention the likes of FJ900, ZZR1200, XBRs etc. I have to Google them to see what they looked like.If I'm honest I lost interest in new Japanese stuff in the late seventies as the big four manufacturers seemed to be bringing out a new model every three months and when I watched riders struggle to get these big heavy (to me) bikes around a tight corner without needing to go on the wrong side of the road, I thought 'nah, not for me'. This was confirmed in the late nineties when I got the Triumph Adventurer, I just couldn't get on with the massively heavy and tall bike and thought, if this is modern stuff, you can keep it!
I have been riding Twins (BSA Triumph & Norton ) ever since and will do for as long as I'm able.
