Running off the road? Check
My second (and third, and fourth) ever accident occurred about a week after the first one.
The evening - my first time riding at night - didn't start well when I got dazzled by car headlights and ended up running off the road, through an open farm gate and into a field.
Having regained the road and my composure, I rode on towards a party where enticing young ladies and cans of Merrydown cider were rumoured to be present if not available.
Some time later, I set off for home. I had managed to resist most of the cider, and the enticing young ladies had managed to resist most of my advances. Ah well.
I got most of the way home without incident, until I fell off for no apparent reason when turning off the main road onto a side street.
At the next junction, I fell off again. Blimey; perhaps I'd had more cider than I thought?
And then I fell off again turning off the road into our drive. It wasn't until I was picking myself and my moped up for the third time that I realised the ground was really, really slippy.
Like ice, in fact.
No one had told me about the perils of riding on ice....
