With that fixed, it only ran on three cylinders for the next week or so, until the fourth one cut in suddenly while I was in heavy traffic. Blimey.
It continued to drop onto three - or sometimes just two - whenever there was the merest hint of rain in the air, but that didn't affect the performance as much as the front brake seizing on.
I wasn't sad to see it go when it got written off just four months into my ownership.
Its one saving grace was that it was the first bike I did 100mph on...
...and the first one that earned me a speeding ticket.
