Seriously, the failings of this bike were the most numerous and worst of any bike I've ever owned. Some were Factory installed (very weak main jetting meant nipping up after long high speed runs and coils that regularly died for instance,) and others were just failings of the design (saggy air forks and rear shocks,) or poor quality components (stretch to failing cam chain in 21k miles). And there was much much more! The problem was that I was very tight for money at the time having just moved house. Every single repair was comfortably less than the resale value of the bike so I was fooled into thinking that nothing more serious would go wrong! And I think the reliability of the GT may have been overstated, I spoke to a guy who ran a courier firm out of Hemel Hempstead and he said the big motorway miles they racked up tended to kill them. Although not in some of the more creative ways mine failed!
