When my other half was expecting I used to (and still do) go out for an early Sunday morning ride in the summer.
This instance I had been following a volvo estate for a while at a very very slow pace, first opportunity I had I gunned the T160.
Must have thought that I was John Cooper in his heyday as I was riding very rapidly, managed to take a couple of roundabouts pretty quickly and gave it a big handful it comming out of the last one - sounded great with the short meggas that it had.
All of a sudden out of nowhere it seemed there was a cop car lights & sirens going behind me, I thought I was done for as I was doing the best part of 70 in a 40 limit.
Pulled over, cop asks how fast / whats the limit, my reply probably doing 60 ahem, limit is 40.
In my defence I said that following a slow car had pissed me off, and the fact that it was 5:30 in the morning and the roads were quiet then it was not "that" dangerous.
He lectured me in a very civil manner explaining that limits are made to be kept to and that is what I should do.
He went on to compliment me on the way that I had gone around the last 2 roundabouts - he was impressed how rapidly I had gone around them, especially on an "old british bike".
He was very interested in the T160 and we spent a while talking about bikes !!
When I asked what was going to happen next, he said that as he had stopped me I would have to produce my docs, and that he would never see me breaking the speed limit again, if he did then there would be "consequences".
