Nigel do you really mean that some people are not happy unless they think that there is a conspiracy afoot, or is it just the mistaken belief that everything you do on t'internet will result in somebody trying to perform some criminal activity for which you will be blamed?

No paranoia on my part, Mike. Just a suggestion as to why some people may choose to cover their reg numbers in adverts. That some less-than-scrupulous people choose to clone number plates to avoid fines is, apparently, fact.
