Do it would be on older Honda's, like all mine, so you can't go wrong. I must admit I'd never come across this myself, but then I've never been involved in working on bikes where the speedo is driven from the gearbox or elsewhere. Interesting to know though, but I wonder if you'd swapped the spacers over would that have had the same effect?

I'm like my bikes, old, battered and a bit leaky, but still going.
