Riding the 'Mutchless' is nothing like the pleasure of my Matchless but I can still do the adventuring. To bring it on topic, on my first return, for many purely practical reasons I bought a new CBF125 (the 'Grudge Special') which had terrible tyres (Indian I think) which were rock hard. I had them changed for a pair of Conti-Go or some such name. I had several sets of Mitas tyres on the Matchless which were excellent for grip and longevity. IIRC 4,500 to 5000 miles from the rear (almost exactly a year's riding) and about 9,000 front. The Matchless is still in the shed ready to go but........? However, it smells nice.
