If the bike is on the DVLA computer database then they must have issued at least a v% for it in the past. If this is the case then simply tell them you have lost and apply for a replacement. If it is not on their system then, assuming the old green log book has frame and engine numbers that match the bike, simply then apply to get the original number reinstated. DVLA have an information pack with full details of exactly what they require and what you must do. Follow it to the letter. Do not be tempted to short cut or ignore their requirements. The BSAOC and the VMCC are great at helping you to sort this out

Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.
