I had a flat (as a result of a pothole) in the aged S type recently. Unfortunately the jack collapsed the jacking point at the rear of the N/S sill. Decision time at the next MOT in September. I always said that if repairs were to cost more than the value I'd scrap it.
However, what could I replace it with at modest cost? It's got plenty of life in the mechanics & is a dream to drive. I might have it repaired on the principle of "the devil you know" etc.
There's always a kick in the goolies around the corner.
Just pissing about. I like that.
