On my H2 which has some rust inside, all I did was slosh a load of paraffin & diesel around the inside along with a load of ball bearings and assorted nuts and bolts.
After much sloshing, drained out all of the crud along with bearings / nuts bolts and used the tank.
There are filters on the tap inlets and to date I have not had any problems.
So I would question whether you need to think about lining it - I had a Triumph Daytona at one time and that was lined.
After a while it started peeling off and caused me a lot of grief - ended up removing it and never re lined it.
