Nice to see a motorcycling article on the front page of the Metro (North West edition at least, though it could have been the same in other UK regions.)
Reporter Dominic Yeatman's feature is a masterpiece of non-research. "It is unclear why the pair were stopped..." Well, Dominic, you already noted earlier in the article that one of the riders was "carrying a passenger wearing a hoodie rather than a helmet..." And the photographs clearly show that both machines were displaying "L" plates. So that's two reasons the bobbies had legitimate reasons to stop the one on the left, quite apart from the erratic riding from both as shown on the video.
It's altogether genuinely heartening that Greater Manchester Police are taking positive action against such anti-social elements, but - in true Metro style - Dominic ends his report by putting a London spin on the story, as though the rest of the country is a mere sideshow.
Incidentally, the video appears to be a month old. Truly the Metro is a free newspaper which is not worth its cover price.
