Didn't listen to that. Nor this:
But always looked forward to Billy Cotton's band show, 1 o'clock on Sundays IIRC.
Whatever happened to the Archers? It's still going, but in name only. All economics, deceit, land deals and environmentalism. When NERCA was a Bill going through parliament (cost us much in access to RUPPS) there was an episode with tearaways on bikes frightening horses and such. I wrote complaining to the BBC about biased opinions and requested some balance. All I got was promises - nothing else.
Archie Andrews and 'Brough'. Spooky.
'Round the Horn' could be good, and the 'Goon show' was unmissable. Then came television, and the dreaded Sunday Night at the London Palladium. 'Dreaded', because it meant the end of the weekend without having finished school homework, and bed at 9pm, only to face the terror of school on Monday with unfinished work.
Gives me the creeps even now.
