The buff log book says that the bike had an apple green tank, which was probably light Brunswick green according to knowledgeable people on the BSAOC forum.
This immediately made me think of RealMart's B33,which I always thought looked just right, so I asked him for some photos of his tank so I could get the painter to copy that. So, thanks to Gary the painter and RJM of Arlesey, who did the masking for the pinstripes, I've got a lovely shiny petrol tank, and a chrome one to put on Ebay.
After filling a few dents, the tank was first sprayed gold, then the pinstripes were masked over and the tank painted green and then lacquered.
I'm very pleased with the result.
