Seems that the people "looking after" it may not have had a lot of mechanical nouce.
Came accross a couple of metric fasteners forced into imperial threads (Bullet has a mix of both), head gasket was leaking, and static timing was set to 0.5mm ATDC with the points gap set very wide, also wrong grade of spark plug.
Looks like the head must have been taken off at some stage as a couple of the hardened washers that I fitted are missing, and one of the rockerbox studs (imperial) has been replaced with a metric which of course does not fit - head or box fastening.
At least piston, rings and bore look OK and no movement on any of the crank bearings.
Does make me wonder what sort of life it lead during the 1000 odd miles it has done since 2012.
Hopefully it will not go bang when I ride it in anger.............
