I have been having some problems with the fridge not working on 240 volts in my camper van when connected to the mains.
A bit of investigation revealed to be poor contacts in the cheap wall socket fitted in the van. I changed the socket last week and all was well.
On arrival at the campsite yesterday the first thing I did was to get the bike off the trailer then prepare for a short afternoon run. Half way through doing this I realised that I hadn't changed the fridge over from 12V operation to mains.
I switched over and imagine my surprise when I just got a load of flashing lights indicating that once again it wasn't working.
I spent half an hour fannying around emptying the storage area where the socket is located and fiddling around with the plug to see if I could get the damn thing to make proper contact.
Suddenly I had a light bulb moment, it might help if you actually connected up to the mains in the first place.
In the excitement of getting here I had completely forgotten what is normally an automatic thing for me to do. Of course as soon as I plugged in to the mains supply all was well.
