This all seems to be due to recent pension changes. I still get enough to have a good living as the local Government scheme was based on final salary. I now get about the same amount as if i was working 37 hours. Basic state pension would have been a struggle but combined with my Wifes two pensions,it adds up nicely. It has paid to work for a living rather than just sitting on street corners for sure.
What i have started doing is making some charity donations, usually for ill children, blind, disabled and a local Hospice, air ambulance and maybe any i see collecting for a worthy cause especially if local to Exmouth. Not a lot but it is something i was unable to do as a struggling family when the kids were eating everything.
I really believed i would just get the State pension at a set amount but never mind. i will also be paying tax on the pension.
