Nephew came around Tonight and the demand for charging points has suddenly increased so someone must be buying the discounted EV cars. The homes have to have smart meters which enables the supplier of the power to switch it off if demand is too high for the area. Each installation has to be reported to the suppliers. It will be interesting for some owners getting out to a car in the Morning with only half a charge. He is fitting 2 points at a local hotel with a device that will charge the individual who uses the socket. From what he tells me, there are some large charges relating to EV car ownership on the way. The next few years will be interesting if this is all we can have in the future. Coming back from Southampton Today, an electric car hit a house and was almost right inside it. Many workers around but it looked like no one would go near it.They set up traffic lights on the road until it can be recovered and the house propped up. It could have been any car in the same accident so not a fault of an electric car as such. Made a very large hole as it was old cob construction so the upper floor of the house was also falling down.In Dorset. My Hybrid is working well but getting the same MPG as a 2 Litre diesel car on longish runs. Early days yet as only 500 miles covered. It still makes sense to buy a 2 litre diesel as they are still available for a lot less money. Best diesel i had was the Volvo V40 1.6 Ford engined version
