I will see how this grease trap performs in the next few weeks. This drain has been blocking about once a year and it is a full arm length down from the concrete so not much fun clearing it through the 5 inch hole.
My first thoughts were that dishwasher chemicals would keep the grease in suspension as it pumped out. 2 years ago, the drainage system in nearby Budliegh blocked up with a giant fat ball. They spent a lot of money digging out many tons of fat. Maybe the modern oils are just processed to last longer and not break down ?
Nice soft water here in this area but some areas withing a few miles do have hard water. I harvest enough rain water for the garden now using 3 water collectors. Saved a lot of water
