Well, when they did take the tax from my state pension, i called the Inland revenue and they told me they will deduct tax from my state pension. So, when i received my first payment in 2019 it was 50 pounds less than my Brothers state pension and now he gets quite a bit more than the 50 pound difference. No tax is taken from my Local Government pension which is paid to me as a wage since 2008. Effectively i am still a Government employee and the payments are marked as pay advice. The Local Government pension amount is lower than my tax code so no tax taken. I accept that the tax has to come from one or the other and the Inland revenue agreed it would deduct from my State pension. Possibly easier for them as my other pension is run by Devon County Council and administered by Peninsula pensions now. I suppose i lose about 100 pound a Month but not really looked into the amount. It all goes into the bank and i spend it on very important old junk motorcycle parts
