I did ask my MP last year who forwarded my questions to the minister. This happended twice as Schapps moved to Defence. In particular, I asked how the decoupling of the price of electricity from gas was going as this was promised by the government. The answers I received confirmed my lack of confidence in the government to actualy do anything. Look at how the prices have come down like a feather compared with the wholesale gas prices. The house of commons library documents on this identify what has been planned for a while and are confirmed by your reference. The pricing is not for the benefit of consumers. Don't forget either that we're going to be paying for the upgrade to the electricity grid which should have commenced ages ago and been financed out of the profits. Just don't recharge your electric car during the day.
