Re: Bike lifts"
I bought a wide lift so i can sit astride the bike when its lifted. I also went for the type with the separate 20 pounds jack so if the seals fail, i just spend 20 pounds on a new jack. Had mine about 20 years. The wheel chock at the front was pretty useless so i bought one of the very large clamps you usually bolt to the floor. I also fitted an electric winch so i can pull heavy bikes onto the bench using a remote control as i sit on the bike. Later on in life, you will not be able to push 400lb bikes up the ramp.. Mine was a fibreboard deck and made by Viking which is now gone out of business. Go for one at least 2 foot wide but mine is a bit wider. I have a small vice mounted on one edge so it can be a workbench. Great piece of kit and cost 240 pounds back 20 years ago.
