All street furniture on the sea wall is stainless steel as all the former metal furniture corroded away rapidly including all the iron railings.
Down here near the seafront, many houses have had the outer wall fall down due to the wall ties failing. 4 in my road have had a deconstruction and rebuild. The front walls just bowed out before the collapse. When i was involved in building work, i noted the cast iron ones from the late 1800s were still in very good condition but often, the lime mortar had washed away to make them loose. On my 1927 house, i have had a good look at the ties and mine are cast iron and very good.
I will try and get some pictures of the copper roof being taken off on the boat house. I was working on buildings from a build in 1960 with a copper roof. It was laid on felt with close boarding to fix too with copper staples. We had a few leaks at around 1985 as it thinned a little but most leaks were caused by Gulls dropping mussels down to crack them. Of course, sometimes they carried sharp stones and this made small punctures in the surface. The Gulls used to nest on the copper but most chicks died as when they began to walk, the roof was so hot it burned their legs off and then we removed the bodies. Later, we would remove nests until it became illegal to touch them. The nests blocked the roof drains and floods came in. What a mess.
