I spent the morning putting away all the xmas tat my wife insists on, although there was less this year and next year no telling. It was cold out but that kept me warm even though I had to take my time doing it as usual. To do that meant moving old Red, which revealed that the front brake had seized on. It was either sort that today or when I next swap it with old Blue, so I did it this afternoon only it decided to rain hard as I was finishing and it was very cold as I did it out in the back yard. All sorted for a while again now anyway. That's two seized this sorted this week, our son went back to work Thursday so needed his bike, he got it out of the shed and then comes in saying Dad I got a problem, the back wheel won't go around. Links seized in the chain, oiling chains not being something that occurs to him so he put it away before Xmas on the Wednesday and it had two weeks for the salt. Much fun working with pliers and wd40 to get them all moving again, so he was late to work but it was only an inset day so not so bad. I hope nothing else seizes up, mind you another downer was my wifes car being written off after a minor amount of damage by someone going the wrong way in a one way so she's even unhappier than usual. |
I'm like my bikes, old, battered and a bit leaky, but still going.
