Harley Davidson Insurance Posted by HR on April 7, 2018, 5:08 pm Picking my Ultra Glide trike Friday 13th , any how since I haven't had insurance for two years since I sold the Softail I decided to go via Harley Davidson , not sure if you know they actually use Carole Nash. You get really good cover for the Trike, Helmits & leathers, fully comp if riding another persons bike so long as they also have fully comp. Brake down cover for Britain and Europe , cant remember the rest . I only thought Carole insured classic bikes guess I am wrong cos my Trike is a 2018 tri glide

Didn't you ring them up & "negotiate" ? My CN renewal came through at a lot more than last year (around 25% up IIRC) - after a "fairly lengthy" telephone call to their renewal team (on their freephone number) I ended up paying around a tenner more than least year. IIRC the £52 broker fee was waived - as it had been last year. Nigel B

This trike will be my forth Harley Davidson & I know people go on and on about them but honestly they suit me and do what I want them to do ,to enjoy my life . Each to their own I would like to own and run a British classic or even an an old Harley but I don't have the skills to tinkle around with them to keep them on the road . Mind you i like old tractors so maybe the Harley is my tractor ahahahahahaha.

Last year, the new Thunderbird cost 14k. That was expensive to insure, and more than the larger bike just due to its value. My package is very good covering more than most other companies and no other company came close without really restrictive use of 1000 miles. The 30k bike will lose a lot in one year because those who can buy one, can usually buy a new one. In 10 years it would still be near 15k and maybe a little more. The other thing is, if you are not buying yourself something nice for a lifetimes work, the offspring will be driving the vehicle you should have bought yourself. I still cannot find any way to take the money along when i expire.

I was hoping to buy the one they had advertised a 2 year old with only 2,800 miles on the clock selling at 25k, but that had been sold. So in the end I went for the new 2018 107 engine two tone one they had on show .

Re: Not into cars Posted by ChrisG on April 8, 2018, 11:48 am, in reply to "Re: Not into cars " 51.6.200.130 As CN is the broker concerned in this thread, if they are your broker of choice, make sure all your bikes are MOT'd as, if not exempt, and not MOT'd they won't be covered for Accidental Fire and Theft even though they are locked up in the garage. You need to change the policy for such machines to a 'Laid up' policy. There is a hefty admin charge for the privilege of course. Call them and check to be sure. This doesn't apply to other brokers, Footman James for instance.

Current Harley is a 2003 883 Sportster with a "Factory" 1200 Conversion - I have all the paperwork to confirm Had it a good few years now, and it just keeps going and going, just a few niggles from time to time. Who needs a signature anyway......

These bigger vehicles have a lot of area to collect dirt in and chrome spoked wheels take some time to clean. Be an optimist on the day. Road tax came in yesterday and that bike is 12 months old.Time flies.
