Well another MMG has happened, and the weather stayed fair as usual. |
The organising committee who have dedicated so many hours of their own time to organise the event, have asked me to say a big thank you to everybody who attended, We hope that you will all come along to the next one. Incidentally a visitor did ask me if the event is, or was going to be, a weekly event!
I think we should recognise that some travelled a little more that my own paltry 3 miles to the event. Our very own Nodoughboy travelled from Exeter on his Triumph, Jerry from the depths of Surrey on hos Yamaha, and Pete who came from Edinburgh and managed to include the MMG in a very complex set of travel arrangements.
Finally I must thank the magnificent John Young. He of the Iron Butt and some insanity. He brought some insanity, noise, and great entertainment to the event, which I think everybody enjoyed.
Firstly he brought and started and then drove around the car park in his little "little hill climb car". It has a 750cc Triumph Trident engine which runs with a 3 into 1 open mega!!! A beautiful sound...……
……….then he wheeled out the mighty NVT Easy Rider with matching third wheel! The engines has long since been thrown away and replaced with a Ram Jet. Neat fuel ignited with a blow torch. Then a garden blower forces air through the engine until it ignites. Now that was LOUD, VERY LOUD. We now have another bloody great scorch mark on the car park (the tarmac actually ignited at one stage!!). I might have to go to The Bulls Head and let them know why and how they now have two scorch marks! Apparently nobody had told the new landlord how the first one got there.
So once again thanks to you all, and I hope you will bless us with your presence again next year.
P.S. Can somebody (Hazel, Bryan) please post a video of the jet thing.....please.
Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.
