I have tried and tried to make achard but it just never seems to turn out like the achard my parents used to make in Mauritius. I have followed the recipes but somehow it seems to go off very quickly and turns sour after a few days. My dad's achard was stored in glass jars and lasted for months. What am I doing wrong.
