Jeannot Delaitre is the son of Jean Delaitre, Mauritian personality who among many appointments was in charge of the Mauritius Broadcast Service. Jean was a great supporter of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the father of the independent Mauritius. The Delaitres are also close friends of the family. Jeannot's mum Jacqueline Rivet grew up with me in Curepipe, Mauritius.
Jeannot now lives in Melbourne and he loves this curry recipe so much that whenever we invite him for dinner, he asks for it. So we called the curry, Curry Jeannot Delaitre.
