A Women's Division may be added to the 1st Annual "Charity Challenge" Classic that is being held in West Chester this Summer.
The invitational tournament that will benefit the American Cancer Society is currently open to Men's Slow Pitch teams in District 6 (Delaware & Chester counties) and will be played at the Kelly Fields Softball Complex in West Chester on the weekend of August 23rd & 24th.
But that could change soon, after the District 6 Player Reps at last weeks District meeting decided they would like to try and include a Women's Division in the "Charity Challenge" tournament, which would be made-up of teams from the ASA of PA Southeastern Area.
ASA of PA Southeastern Area
District 2 - Dauphin, Lancaster & Lebanon Counties
District 6 - Chester & Delaware Counties
District 14 - Montgomery County
District 15 - Bucks County
The team entry fee for the tournament is $150.
The complex is well maintained and has two 300' fenced fields with lights.
Teams must be from a registered ASA of PA league in order to participate in the tournament.
The Millennium Sunday and Millennium Upland Slow Pitch Leagues as well as other Delaware and Chester County leagues are committed to sending teams to support the tournament and help raise money for the fight against cancer.
The American Cancer Society raffle tickets will be available for teams to sell before and during the tournament.
More information will follow as it becomes available throughout the coming months, including the name of the new sponsor for the American Cancer Society raffle ticket.
