Daily Times...Softball: Millennium Sunday Roundup - DiLeo gets back in the swing
Mike DiLeo is happy to be home. His Woodland Supply teammates echo that sentiment.
DiLeo, who was deployed to Afghanistan in March, finished with four RBIs in his first game of the season, Woodland Supply swept R.P. McMurphy's Bar & Grill in Millennium League softball action Sunday, 8-2 and 11-0.
Rob McGarry did something in Game 2 that not many slow pitch hurlers can do. McGarry issued four walks, but twirled a no-hitter. Chris Melnychuk tripled and bashed a three-run home run, while Gordie Hutton and Terry Sunami combined for four hits and four RBIs.

In other Millennium Sunday League games:
A.M. Heating & AC 25-14, Casey's Saloon 2-4: Greg Havink blasted three home runs to lead A.M. to a rout in the opening game.
Havink finished with four RBIs and four runs. Tony Black went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four runs.
In the second game, Justin Hendrix went 3-for-3 with three ribbies and a dinger. Tom McGowan, who pitched the win, Phil Bradford and Jesse Maisch each banged out a pair of hits.

Tom n Jerry's Underdogs 23-17, Riddle Ale House 11-2: Kevin Ravert (three RBIs), Joe Wells and Chris Ness had three hits apiece to pace the Underdogs in the opener. Larry Willis smacked two hits and scored twice to help the Underdogs to a win in the second game.

Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack 9-11, Parks Entertainment 8-4: In the opener, Scott Swanson drilled four hits and Rob Mendicino and Charles O'Hara each had three knocks in five at-bats. The second game saw Joe O'Hara go a perfect 6-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and three runs. Rob Love wasn't too shabby, either, finishing 5-for-5 with a pair of two-baggers. Glenn Mutz won both games.

Boulevard Bar & Grille 21-18, A&R Iron Works 10-9: Boulevard cruised to a sweep thanks to Chris Owens, who went 7-for-8 on the day with eight runs scored. Chris Hoffman and Steve Prescot got two hits each in the opener in support of winner Frank Magee. In the second game, Joe Kaminski finished 4-for-4 to back up pitcher Al Fuimano.

A. Marinelli & Sons Building Supply 12-7, Campbell's Boathouse 6-6: Bryan Allen's three hits and Ed Mikos' homer propelled A. Marinelli & Sons to victory in Game 1. Allen's delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh inning in Game 2. Matt Galati and Steve Tallon each went yard.

Moe's Grille Homers 17-8, Sligo Irish Pub 7-7: Moe's rolled to victory in the homer behind Mike Van Wyk (four hits, four RBIs) and Mike Hagner (three hits, five RBIs). Bill Armideo slammed two homers. Kevin Dougerty, who pitched both wins, turned a rally-killing double play late in the second game. Jay Lynch came through in the clutch with a walkoff single.

Time Out Tavern 11-24, Garrett Ale House 10-4: Jim Stickley had the game-winning hit in the first game and winning pitcher Shawn Lupis finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Lupis and Mike Cronin were a perfect 4-for-4 in the second game.

Matty's Place 15-6, Moe's Grille I 3-18: Phil Torrens doubled, homered and knocked in five RBIs to guide Matty's to a Game 1 success. Zack Derrick, Dave Rhoads, Anthony Pace, Dan Fallon and Brian Johnson all ended with two hits for Moe's in the getaway game.
