Daily Times...Softball: Millennium Sunday Roundup - D'oh! Van Wyk's homers power Moe's
Mike Van Wyk had quite a day on the softball diamond Sunday, clubbing four home runs to lead Moe's Grille Homers to a doubleheader sweep of Della Polla's Tavern in Millennium League action.
Moe's Homers won the first game, 11-5, as Van Wyk drove in four runs on three hits, including two home runs. Joe Gallagher and Josh Chandlee each had three hits and two RBIs and Kevin Dougherty earned the win.
Van Wyk hit two more homers in the second game, which the Homers won, 14-13. Mark Matheny drove in four runs on three hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Jim Hooven plated three runs on two hits, including a home run. Gallagher also hit a homer and Dougherty again earned the win.

In other Millennium Sunday League games:
Tom n Jerry's Underdogs 9-4, Ashland Pub 5-9: Mike Hawrylak went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and Ray Dougherty pitched five scoreless innings as Tom n Jerry's won Game 1. Bryan Carter had three hits and two RBIs and Scott Davis had three hits, including a double. Larry Willis added two hits and two RBIs.
In Game 2, Ashland Pub gave up the first four runs then scored the next nine to win. Chris Benjamin went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Nick Agnew added three hits and two RBIs. Frank Boyd earned the win.

Milmont Republican Club 18-14, Pogue Mahone's Pub II 4-0: Brandon Pettit homered, drove in four runs and scored twice to lead Milmont Republican Club to victory in Game 1. Herb Davis doubled and homered while driving in two runs and Don Havens earned the win.
In Game 2, Bill Cawley drove in four runs on two hits, including a double, to lead MRC to a sweep. Bob Pettit had four hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Havens again earned the win.

A.M. Heating & AC 16-11, R.P. McMurphy's Bar & Grill 3-10: Tony Black had four hits, scored four runs and drove in two runs as A.M. Heating won the opener. Tom McGowan added three hits, including two doubles, as he earned the win.
Gary Bonner and Anthony Masciarelli each tripled in the nightcap for the winners. Dominic Masciarelli had two hits to help Phil Bradford pick up the win.

A. Marinelli & Sons Building Supply 14-15, Time Out Tavern 2-5: Steve Tallon homered, drove in five runs on three hits and scored three runs as Marinelli took the first game. Bryan Allen went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.

Philly Express 22-10, Mighty Ducks 4-16: Pat Lanni went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored to lead the Mighty Ducks to a Game 2 win. Joe Carlile picked up the decision and Rick Brennecke hit two home runs in the doubleheader with four RBIs.

Garrett Ale House 15-10, Sligo Irish Pub 4-11: Brian McCulley went 3-for-3, including a double, drove in two runs and crossed the plate three times as Garrett Ale House won Game 1. Joe Barlam also went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Rob Maaddi's two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning proved to be the game-winning hit for Sligo in the second game. Bob Ford notched the win, striking out the game's final batter with the bases loaded in the seventh.

The Thirsty Bulldog 12, P.J. Henry's Draft House 11: John Kramer hit a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh to provide the deciding run for Thirsty Bulldog in Game 2. Dave Staffi had three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Frank Ruffo and Brandon Boyd each had two hits.
