1st Annual "Softball for a Cure" Coed Softball Tournament
Rules and Regulations
1) All ASA rules apply (including ASA bat restrictions) except for the following.
2) The ASA Stealing Rule will NOT be used in this tournament.
3) Batter starts with a one-one count (no extra foul).
4) May start with 8 players, go up to 9 or 10, but never down unless due to injury.
5) May use 3 courtesy runners per game. Courtesy runner must be last recorded out.
6) Teams may bat 12 players in their line-up and the ASA Extra Player Rule will apply.
7) Tie-breakers are as follows: (1.) Head to head competition, (2.) Fewest runs allowed,
(3.) Most runs scored, (4.) Coin Toss.
8) One new 11" and 12" ASA .44 COR, 375 lbs Compression Softball will be supplied for each game in the Gold and Silver Flights and 12" only for the Bronze Flight. Each team will be required to supply any additional balls needed for each game.The balls MUST be ASA .44 COR, 375 lbs Compression.
9) The home team must keep score and will be the official book.
10) Run Ahead Rule: 20 after three innings, 15 after four innings, and 10 after five innings.
11) Any team that wins a game by forfeit will be credited with the score of 10-0.
12) The tournament director may change the tournament format due to weather conditions.
13) No drinking on ANY field, (automatic team ejection).
14) Clean up your trash.
15) Report scores at the end of the game to tournament official.
16) Report to your game at the scheduled time, NO EXCEPTIONS.
17) Only allowed to play for ONE team during the entire tournament.
18) No metal cleats. Plastic cleats or sneakers are fine. If you only have metal cleats to wear you are not allowed to slide under any circumstances. If you slide with metal cleats you will be ejected from the tournament.
19) Catchers are not required to wear any face or chest protection but face protection is recommended.
20) Bats should be single-walled. If you or your team has NO single wall bats please let a tournament official know.
21) Batting rotation must be alternating sexes, until there is no longer an available batter of the opposite sex.
22) 1 hour Drop Dead game time limits.
23) If a guy is walked with a girl up to bat next, she has the choice to either walk or bat.
