Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Playoff Roundup from July 15th
In a battle of 'Ds,' Jimmy D's/Action Concrete eliminated J.D. McGillicuddy's Tinicum in the best-of-3 semifinals.
Steve Sakers' seventh-inning hit elevated Jimmy D's to a 15-14 success in the third game of the tripleheader and into the American-National Rec Division championship round next week.
In the first game, Jimmy D's rode offense to a 16-15 success over J.D. McGillicuddy's with pitcher Rob Dix collecting the win.
McGillicuddy's evened the series by cruising to a 17-8 victory.

JD McGillicuddy's Drexel Hill 11-9-9, Sartomer USA 9-19-5: Joe Simmonds and Steve Mullin put Cuddy's over the top in the semifinal series decided in three games.

Barnaby's of Ridley 2-11-9, Erie Insurance 13-10-8: Pitcher Anthony Tassone went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help himself to the Game 1 success. Andrew Whalen chipped in three hits and one RBI. Barnaby's reached the finals for the first time behind Brian Bellocchio, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and tallied the triumphant run on a hit by Joey Driscoll (two hits).

Cicconi Auto Body 12-11, Mudsharks 2-8: Ron Billick went 5-for-6 with two homers and seven RBIs to lead Cicconi to the sweep. Steve Smith was 6-for-7 with seven runs scored in support of pitcher Barry Runge.

Briarcliffe Post #761 8-13, Ashland Pub 7-6: Chris Mitchell, who missed the first five weeks of the season after surgery, sparked The Post to the Game 1 victory with a walk-off hit. Nick Gavin and Timmy Flynn combined to be 6-for-6 with two doubles and five RBIs. Chris Melnychuk drove in five runs and fell just a triple short of the cycle. Shane Patterson added 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.

Johnny B's Place 9-19, Della Polla's Tavern: 7-4: Terry Doherty's two-out double plated Ronnie DellaPenna with the triumphant run in the first game in support of pitcher Timmy Rickards. Eleven of 13 batters contributed at least one RBI in the elimination game, with Jon McMahon going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and Rich Brady 3-for-4 with three ribbies. Rickards (2-for-2, two RBIs) pocketed the win.

C.R. Shenanigans I 18-16, Lou Turk's 3-3: Larry Waterfield went 3-for-4 with a homer and five RBIs and Jim Butler slugged two homers while driving in four runs to spark C.R. in the first game. Bruce Butler and Jay Grassi both went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in the second game. Matt Blickley added two hits and three ribbies.

Jack Cassidy's Hooligans 12-11-9, Tailgator's Orange 11-13-8: Tommy Lloyd (home run) drove in three runs and Adam Chesia was 3-for-3 for Cassidy's in the opener. In the elimination affair, Ed McDonnell went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Eric Egan was 2-for-3 with a homer. Buddy Roney preserved the success with two diving catches in the seventh inning.

Milmont Republican Club 19-14, Jack Cassidy's Irish Pub 9-12: T.J. Waldie (home run) and Brian Waldie (4-for-4) drove in three runs each to lead MRC to victory in an A Division semifinals series. Joe Lincke was 4-for-4. Bill Cawley and Matt Hummel belted back-to-back homers in the getaway. C.J. Boyle went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

A&R Iron Works 15-14, Jimmy Mac's Bar & Grille 2-5: Jim Bertulis went 3-for-3 with a couple of homers to power A&R in the first game. Pat Jennings and P.J. Harding both went 3-for-3 to make a winner out of John Stroup in the elimination game.

J.D. McGillicuddy's Kirklyn Ducks 9-6-9, Tip O'Leary's Restaurant & Bar 7-12-8: Bill Larkin homered and scored a pair of runs for the Ducks. Matt Rooney went 3-for-3 and tallied twice. Mike Fitzgerald's walk-off two-run double advanced the Ducks to the title round.
