Earlier today I received an email from the state office with their annual midsummer production report that stated that the ASA of PA District 6 had more adult team registrations than at the same time as last year and is poised for a three-peat and for another record year!
The ASA of PA District 6 has grown faster and had more adult team registrations than any other district in Pennsylvania over a four year period from 2006-2009.
In all, nearly 200 new adult teams have joined the ASA of PA in District 6 over that time span.
Then in 2010, what was once thought of as highly unlikely, District 6 became #1 for the first time ever with total ASA of PA adult team registrations and has never looked back.
As the numbers reflect every year more and more teams and leagues are organizing to play ASA of PA softball in District 6 (which encompasses Chester and Delaware counties) where softball has been thriving like never before.
The continued growth in the adult program correlates to the efforts of the District 6 Deputy Commissioners, who have done a tremendous job, in part, by attending league meetings, helping leagues to recruit new teams, and explaining the benefits of playing in the ASA of PA.
The special group of Player Reps in the District have been a major sustaining factor and have been very instrumental in helping bring the District to the pinnacle of success we have achieved.
I am proud of the strides the District has taken in my first seven years as the District Commissioner in becoming one of the premier places to play softball in the ASA of PA and would like to thank the District 6 staff for their commitment in helping us reach our goals.
