Millennium Sunday Softball League - Playoff Bat Policy
All teams remaining in the playoffs in the Millennium Sunday League in the A, B and C Division Playoffs have had their bats tested and new stickers placed on their bats.
Only bats with the new sticker may be used in the semifinals and finals.
Teams MUST line up their bats along the fence before the game for the umpire to inspect for those stickers. If a bat does not have the most current sticker it will not be allowed to be used.
Since some bats have multiple stickers on them make sure you let the umpire know what sticker to look for on the bat from the bat testing at Barnaby’s of Ridley, last Tuesday.
A team may challenge a bat at any time between the first pitch thrown to the batter being alleged to use the unapproved bat and the first pitch thrown to the next batter in the lineup.
If a bat is challenged and found to not have the appropriate sticker, the violating team will be assessed a penalty of the batter using the bat automatically being declared out.
If a team has a second offense in the same series of games, the batter will be declared out and the team coach/manager will be ejected and not able to return for the remainder of the series.
Please have this rule handy in case your umpire questions the validity of your claim that this is a bylaw of the league.
Thanks guys, and good luck to all of you in the playoffs.
