The ASA of PA District 6 would like to welcome Steve Prescott as the new Delaware County Coed Player Representative.
Steve has been the commissioner of the Millennium Coed Softball League over the last four years and his team has participated in many Delaware County Coed Invitational softball tournaments.
With 10 leagues and 202 teams playing coed softball in Chester County (District 6) it was time to try and add to the 3 leagues and 18 teams who currently play coed softball in Delaware County (District 6) where organizing coed softball has always been a challenge.
So having a Delaware County Coed Player Rep. will at least give District 6 a chance to increase the number of players and teams in the county.
Steve is more than willing to give it his best shot of doing the organizing necessary to see this come to fruition, with the help of the District 6 staff.
There are plans on starting a Millennium Coed Softball League that will play on Sunday's in the late afternoon/early evening.
There are also plans on having a Millennium Fall Coed Softball League that will play weeknights (Monday thru Friday) at the new Fields at Furey Road.
Some may remember that the Furey Fall Coed Softball League was the first league of its kind in Delaware County not that many years ago, but their field was needed because of the growth of the Furey Fall Men's Softball League which had 18 teams in 2012, the last year the fields were available.
The coed league was set to begin play once again this Fall, but the fields at Furey Road weren't quite ready in time.
All teams who play in the coed leagues mentioned above will be eligible to participate in the ASA of PA Coed State Championships that have been hosted locally over the last couple of years.
Congratulations Steve on your new appointment.
Joe Organek
ASA of PA
District 6 Commissioner
