Daily Times: Millennium Sunday Roundup: Defense helps Stephen's on State rally in extras
Anthony SanFilippo Jr. made a lunging, highlightreel catch in center field in the bottom of the seventh inning, while Dan Ryan and Mark Nevins fueled a four-run rally in the top of the ninth as Stephen's on State earned an 11-8 victory over Hunt's Heavy Hitters in Game 2 of a Millennium Sunday Softball League doubleheader.
According to one source, Stephen's captain Anthony Sr. tweaked a muscle in his back just watching his son make the spectacular, game-saving snag.
Jim Toy turned an unassisted double play in the bottom of the eighth to keep the game knotted up. Ryan was a single shy of the cycle and had four RBIs, while Nevins chipped in with three hits and three ribbies.
Hunt's took the opener by an 18-7 decision. Sean Ryan and Danny Crowley Sr. each finished with three hits and an RBI. Mike Iannieri was 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
