Hi Bev,

My daughter Amy (22 months old, AVSD) has a leaky mitral valve, exacerbated by a 'cleft' that's letting blood flow back into her left atrium. As a result the left side of her heart is slightly overloaded.

Having had several months free from medication after her surgery, she's now on captopril and furosemide. But she'll likely need surgery at some point to deal with it - I think the cleft is the main problem, not the leaky valve itself.
