Hi Ben
Great news that Patrick's doing well. We have seen a physio for Leo = his Trisomy 21 gives him weak muscle tone, so he has to work harder, but is very determined! We asked our physio if we could do anything to prepare him for his OHS, but really it's just a case of doing some nice little exercises to help him with his natural development. He's a bit past 7 months now, and he managed to roll for the first time 4 days before he had his ileostomy surgery! I was concerned that he'd then be uncomfortable on his stoma, but he was rolling around his cot after 2 days! I wouldn't mind, but it increases the risk of his bag leaking!! It's hard sometimes, to avoid making comparisons, especially if you're part of a 'baby group, but the encouraging news is that all our babies get to their milestones eventually, it just means bigger whoops when they do get there!! I hope you'll have a good physio who will give you some fun exercises to encourage Patrick along. I don't know what resources are like where you are, but here the physio is very understaffed, so it might be worth being quite 'active' in your pursuit of an appointment! PS you might find that Patrick just misses out on the crawling bit all together and goes straight for the 'pull to standing' bit - then you'll have lots of fun trying to P-proof your home!!
