I spoke to one of my old business colleagues, and the truth is that they could do a simple cut of the offending phrase, and it would cost 5-10k and take a maximum of 1-2 days (if that, given its simplicity). I have written back to Barbara, who replied to me, informing and correcting her on this detail! My colleague (who used to run a successful ad agency!) suggests we address complaints to ASA and also to Clearcast. Do we want to do individual complaints? I guess that it's inappropriate to send one 'from ECHO' as not all ECHO members have responded, so we don't know if we are 'representing the collective'. Also, I guess we need to be mindful of the relationship that Evelina and GOSH have in terms of cross-referrals, second opinions etc. I'm waiting to see what Barbara's response is to my second email, and then I'll decide if I'm going to pursue this by making an official complaint. Just thought you'd like some context on what it would cost for them to change it.
