Here's the email I received today!
As from tomorrow the ad will be replaced by our previous one which just talks about the work of the hospital in general without mentioning any specific conditions.
The ad that has caused all the problems will be revised over the next few months and will not be aired until everyone concerned is happy that it will not cause any upset to any families.
Thank you for offering to be a consumer for us. We will pass your details to Tanya Mitchell, the Head of Direct Marketing who is responsible for our advertising. You can always contact her directly on 020 7239 3028 or Tanya.mitchell@gosh.org.
Once again, our sincere apologies for the distress the ad caused

So now we know who to write to in future (although I suspect that they'll be more careful! It's a really good result on all levels, I believe. No more additional/inappropriate distress for families in our situation, but also, GOSH still continuing with their vital fundraising efforts for their own services, including cardiac!) I am putting my old Consultant's Hat back in the box. I'm really pleased that this was brought to our attention originally, and very proud to be part of a group that acts positively to initiate change, rather than just 'grumble'! x
