Hi Nic,
Just wanted to say congratulations on your little princess. I had my little princess back in June and like yourself I found out at my 21 week scan and it was the worst day of my life. Reading your story brings it all back to me so clearly it was my first pregnancy and I felt it was totally filled with worry and I didn't get a chance to enjoy it. But I have to tell you Daisy (my princess) is the best thing that has ever happened to me, she is just so special. Since having Daisy I have met lots of other mothers who have had their babies but had no idea about their heart problems until days, weeks or even months later and I know you can never be prepared for something like this, but I do believe we have to feel lucky in one sense because at least they know about your daughters heart condition, therefore they can have a plan and be ready for her arrival. I was told all the worst case senarios and I can't believe she is 16 weeks old tomorrow, she had her first operation just 4 weeks ago and is doing really well. I was told her first operation would be straight away but she went for a whole 12 weeks without having nothing done. I know we have a lot more to come but the Evelina really is the best hospital and they have the best people so you are in good hands. Good luck for the move back home and just keep strong and positive as I said you really are in the best hands. Lots of love to you all.
