Nick makes a really good point about the preparations you make not changing anything for your baby - so, as he says, it all depends on how you feel and what the prognosis is.
From my own point of view, we had a very uncertain prognosis before Amy was born (in the end, her condition was much less severe than predicted before she born). But I found that it helped to remind myself that we really were having a baby, and to buy things - buying blankets and baby-grows etc made me feel more excited and less anxious. And my older daughter enjoyed it too, so I encouraged her to help with getting everything ready - even while I prepared her for the baby staying in hospital for a while. But although we bought a cot, we didn't set it up til Amy was home. And we didn't buy a pram until she was home (and then I had to send my husband out on a bossy emergency trip to buy one, as carrying her around in the sling didn't have a good effect on my caesarean scar!)
Hope you manage to enjoy this time a bit, in spite of all the anxiety - baby-shopping should definitely be fun.
