The Dept. of Health are strongly urging any vulnerable individuals to take the vaccine.
As for safety, well I dont have any scientific data, but I know it is a 'dead' vaccine, so its not that they are giving you a dose of flu. There are no serious side effects been reported.
The unfortunate girl who died after having the jab a couple of months ago was for all intents and purposes unrelated to the vaccine, so I wouldnt take that as any evidence one way or another.
I would only say 2 things - 1/ people are more ready to beleive in the dangers of vaccination than the benefits. The knee jerk reaction regarding the MMR misinformation has directly caused dangerous outbreaks of measles. 2/ I have a sick feeling in my stomach that the flu will go thru our CHD children rapidly without vaccination and take us back to the dark days. I spent a week watching our Jack struggling for breath in an oxygen box 12 years ago and i dont recommend it to anyone.
