Two weeks ago a new AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion was crowned as twenty top wrestlers battled it out in a special one-night tournmanet. Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride and Joey Silvia outlasted 18 others in the opening battle roayl to make it to the main event and the deciding match. McBride scored the pinfall and won the championship thanks to AWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Converse putting on the stripes to make the three count on Silvia. Joey Silvia and "Simply" Steve Greene have been in an uproar since that night, demanding that the title be held up and a rematch declared as they claim the pinfall shouldn't be acknowledged since Ric Converse was not assigned as the official for the bout. Their protests to Commissioner William L. Cross have fallen on deaf ears, as Cross emphatically declared the pinfall valid and McBride was the new champion. Not receiving the ruling he desired, Silvia has appealed the decision all the way to AWA President Dale Gagne. No official word has been received from Gagne but Commissioner Cross has stated that the results of Silvia's appeal will be announced this Saturday night in Burlington. "I know once Dale Gagne sees the video of how I was robbed of the AWA Mid-Atlantic Title he'll do the right thing and hold up the title and order an immediate rematch. Cross may let Ric Converse get away with anything, but Gagne won't. All those fans that cheered 'The Boogie Woogie Man' will be crying this Saturday night when they see me walk out the rightful heavyweight champion," Joey Silvia informed us. AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Michael McAllister survived another title defense, this time against fan favorite Brad Attitude. The fans and Attitude were certain that the TV Title was going to change hands, only to see the 10-minute time limit expire as McAllister was about to tap out to Attitude's submission hold. McAllister stated, "I am the greatest Mid-Atlantic TV Champion of all time, after all nobody has defeated me in the alloted time limit." While McAllister is proud of his title reign, fans are begging for someone to defeat the champion inside the TV time limit. This week could be the week as another challenger will be randomly selected from the Top 10 list! Fans will also see more 2nd round action from the 3rd Annual Johnny Weaver Cup Tournament. The summer long single elimination tournament has seen several surprises along the way. So far three competitors have reached the "Elite 8" and are only one win away from making the night of the finals. Those three are "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor, "Mr. Elite" Jake Manning, and the Gemini Kid. Five more entrants await their bout to join the "Elite 8" this year. Over the next two weeks fans will see such unique matchups as Garry Stevens vs. Tank Lawson, Jesse Ortega vs. Brass Munkey, Xsiris vs. Cham Pain, and more! Shiek Cornelius J. Lumpkin III was on a tirade two weeks ago that nearly saw ringside fans attack him for his statements about Tank Lawson and Americans in general while promoting the goodness of his finacial backers in the United Arab Emirates. Shiek Lumpkin has been bragging for weeks about a new wrestler that the UAE will be supplying him with. Asaad Khalif, Sheik Lumpkin's bodyguard, was recalled to the UAE, but Lumpkin says his newest charge is even bigger! While Sheik Lumpkin refused to tell us who he was, he did state that this Saturday night could be the night that everyone finds out just how much money his Arab investors are willing to spend because his new wrestler was a certified world record holder. Many have asked if AWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Converse will be in action this Saturday night. Converse will in fact be in action but his match will take place in Bay City, Michigan! Converse is scheduled to wrestle in North Carolina, Michigan, Lousiana, Georgia, and Flordia over the next six weeks defending the World Title against the top challengers throughout the AWA. However the rest of your favorites will be in Burlington this Saturday night including the new AWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride, AWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens & "A Very Handsome Man" Mitch Connor, AWA Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Michael McAllister, Rising Generation League Champion Ultra Dragon, Jesse Ortega, Brass Munkey, "Rock 'n' Roll" Matty Dee, Xsiris, Brad Attitude, Tank Lawson, Joey Silvia, "Simply" Steve Greene, "Box Office Draw" Mikael Yamaha, Donnie Dollars, Cham Pain, Marcellus King, Julius Augustus, "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel with manager Sheik Cornelius J.Lumpkin III, and more!!!
