In typical "Trouble King" fashion, Steve Corino has been quick to issue press releases that he recaptured the AWA Heavyweight Crown from Converse while stating it was in controversial fashion. Corino has again attempted to infer that his opponent cheated (just as last month he blamed Rob McBride & Tank Lawson after losing the tag team titles to them). As Corino tries to cloud the issues in order to retain the championship, AWA board member and the CWF Mid-Atlantic Commissioner, William L. Cross intends to give the fans the truth and at the same time, attempt for justice to be properly served in this matter. FACT #1 FACT #2 FACT #3 FACT #4 FACT #5 "We're giving Corino a taste of his own medicine with this protest, just like he did to Rob McBride & Tank Lawson, when he caused the AWA World Tag Team Titles to be returned to him," stated Commissioner Cross. "However I want to point out that Ric Converse does not want this settled in the board room. He would prefer that Corino bring the belt back in person and face him in the ring to settle it once and for all. And we have also requested that it not happen in AWA World-1 where we've all witnessed how Converse was treated unfairly," Cross concluded. As of the time of this press release, Steve Corino still has not provided the videotape of the match and no official ruling has been issued by AWA President Dale Gagne.
