AWA World Tag Champions Dynasty ("the 1st" Ric Converse & Xsiris) defeated "Handsome" Mitch Connor & Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega by pinfall in non-title Texas Tornado tag team action (25:07) Officials: Charles Richardson & Redd Jones +++CWF Commissioner Garry "Madd Trucker" Stevens informed the fans during his opening remarks that there would be no long-winded promos of any kind due to the fact that as "supreme commander" of CWF-MAX!, he had used his authority to bar AWA President William L. Cross. CWF Mid Atlantic Commissioner Ty Dillinger and manager Brad "Fatback" Stutts from the building. Stevens also announced that he would return after intermission to bring out his former championship tag partner "Handsome" Mitch Connor so he could announce who he had chosen as his tag team partner for the Texas Tornado main event. After intermission, Stevens appeared in the ring once again in his wrestling gear with Little Billy in hand. Connor joined him in the ring to announce his choice for teammate, announcing that Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega would be in his corner against Xsiris & Converse. The Trucker became somewhat agitated, saying that Little Billy had already told him that HE would be the choice for the bout, and confronted his former partner asking him exactly what he was thinking. Connor sputtered a bit before Stevens told him that with Cross and Dillinger barred from the building, he would have made the main event an AWA World Tag Title bout and they could have left with the titles in hand. +++Kamakazi Kid and "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel burned down the house, destroying a dozen or more steel chairs in one of the most brutal displays of hardcore wrestling in the Carolina Sports Arena's history. Edsel became buried under a mountain of steel chairs on the floor only to have Kazi leap from the top of a ladder onto him and the chairs after fighting off Sheik Lumpkin in No Holds Barred - Falls Count Anywhere action. +++Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride unleashed a stiff punch toward the chin of "Jersey" Nick Richards in non-title tag team action and possibly broke his hand upon impact with the steel cornerpost. Richards dropped out of McBride's grasp as the Boogie Man was unloading a shot and the sound of his hand striking the post was sickening. McBride returned to the arena during intermission with his injured hand taped up, swollen and visibly purple before leaving for medical attention. +++The Neon Lions (Lee Valiant & "Classic" Chris Collins) continued their hot ways with another upset win over the team of AWA Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Joey Silvia & AWA Mid Atlantic Television Champion Steve Greene via pinfall. Valiant was rushed to the local emergency room to staunch the flow of blood from his head, which also involved a healthy share of swinging steel chairs. +++Stevens returned at the end of the main event, actually becoming involved by knocking Connor to the canvas with Little Billy setting up the pinfall win by the tag champions. Connor was unconscious in the ring following the bout with the Trucker sounding off about how he used to admire him but now he refuses to "hang out with losers." Little Billy removed his Connor bow-tie, which was tossed into the ring as the Commissioner left the building.
